#5 VoIP Top Tips

A system is only as good as its users

You must fully understand how to use all the new features and benefits of your new phone system to justify the expense. On far too many occasions, we hear of businesses simply using their new phone system in the exact same way as the old one. The reason, they didn’t know how to do things, or even worse, didn’t know it was even possible.

Train, Train, and more Training

When you make the decision to purchase a phone system from a provider, the first thing you need to understand is what does their onboarding entail.

Some providers will simply post you the phones out to plug in, others will come to the site and show you how to work them. There are of course those who will attend the site and not only show you how to use the phone, but more importantly, how to control, manage, and maintain your own phone system. In short, you must ensure you and your team are training to ensure your new phone system will improve your business.

Not every user is the same, who’s the champion?

No matter the size of your new phone system, ensure you have one member of staff who will become the phone system champion. What we mean by this, is to have a member of your team who will understand everything to help those who don’t at a later date.

Where’s the content?

Ensure the platform you are purchasing has an online library of support content, many resellers will not have this content themselves and will not want to direct you towards their wholesale supplier for obvious reasons.

This content is paramount, it may be as simple as adding contacts, but living in the 21st century there is an expectation we can openly find information without having to ring a company.
