Many businesses now rely solely on their CRM for managing their customer relationships, from updating notes, logging data or simply updating their contact number. They are used by businesses of all shapes and sizes, and rightly so, if used correctly they are an amazing asset to any business.
The question then lies. Why are we paying for a CRM tool that is designed to help us manage customers, but yet most of us don’t integrate it fully with our other communication tools? Especially when the majority are inclusive.
At a guess, most businesses have been using their CRM for some time, when such integrations were not available or certainly weren’t the norm.
What can you integrate?
Phone System
Pretty obvious one with the nature of our business. But also one of the most powerful. When you integrate your phone system with your CRM, watch your team’s efficiency explode.
Inbound
Outbound
Emails
By integrating your emails with your CRM, you can directly send and receive emails directly from their account without opening Outlook. This not only keeps you in one application but will also log all email communication against their account for future reference.
Calendar
By syncing your calendar, others can see where you are, who you are with, all without looking at your actual calendar. If you book a meeting with a customer, just like emails it will automatically be logged against their account for future reference
Website
A slightly more modern integration, but you can link your website directly to your CRM. In a sales environment, this can be extremely helpful. Let’s say you sent a proposal to a client, they then view your website several times, your CRM can log that activity and even send you a notification as a sales indicator.
Social media
Similar to your website many CRM’s now allow you to log all your customer’s social media channels against their account. Making it super easy to engage with them in a more informal context.
By integrating all your communication platforms into your CRM, you will empower your team to open more sales opportunities, be more informed of their customer accounts and significantly improve business efficiency.
The great news is, most, if not all these integrations are primarily free and are relatively easy to set up.
